Dr. Mendez Foundation:
There are many vision problems in our community ranging from the easiest to cure, for example myopia, to even the most complicated surgeries such as the increasingly common diabetic retinopathy. We believe no one should suffer and be deprived from receiving proper care.
At the Dr. Mendez Vision Institute we have a mission to help as many people as possible to improve their eye health and prevent major problems. Dr. Antonio Mendez Gutierrez and his son, Dr. Antonio Mendez Noble, started the Vision Institute Dr. Mendez Foundation using the same modern facilities to formalize the tradition of community support and to offer as much visual health services to people of limited resources.
The process began in 2011, under the initiative of both doctors; they both saw a need for a specialized project aimed towards the most vulnerable people, and decided to create this foundation to benefit the community, especially at this crucial time when there are eye conditions that have become more frequent, such as diabetic retinopathy.
We want to inform people of these precautions so that they can then help people by referring them to an ophthalmologic service. The fear of having or getting diseases is very common and informing people of disease symptoms and precautions is the best start to helping people have healthy living.
